Tensions and Textures of Everyday Generative AI Use
How do we shape Gen AI to fit our personal and professional needs, and how does it shape us in return?
This study examines everyday interactions with tools like ChatGPT among equity-deserving migrant knowledge workers. It proposes understanding Gen AI use as social and intersectional modes of trying, in shared vulnerability, competition, capability, and authenticity. Firsthand experiences with AI reveal the tensions and textures not only of the technology itself, but of the world we live in.
