How can digital media tools be used to creatively support an individual and self-determined relationship with grief, legacy, and death?

Inspired by my personal experiences, this project examines the intersections between death, art, and digital media. It aims to destigmatize discussions of death and protest against the oppressive & capitalistic systems which control how we are allowed to grieve & dictate who is worthy of legacy.

Through a call for submissions process on social media, I curated works from artists’ and writers’ personal responses to my thesis question. I then produced a virtual gallery to showcase these pieces, which can be accessed from a web-browser on any desktop device at d-word.art
